Food is part of the unique experiential ensemble we create on board for you. Well, it lies at the heart of the whole experience our houseboats conjure on the backwaters. Great food is soul food. You can of course make an advance online booking for any delicacy of choice. We also cater vegan or Jain cuisine.

Breakfast: So while you are in Kerala, you may not want to let go of the quintessential Malayali breakfast. The typical Malayali breakfast, which shares features of the typical South Indian breakfast, is either steamed or lightly fried, so is universally regarded as the recipe for health and happiness. The much sought-after traditional Kerala cuisine is prepared inside the boat kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Our breakfast includes typically Malayali/South Indian delicacies, such as idly and sambar, dosa, uthappam, upma (cream of wheat), vada, puttu or steamed rice cake, idiyappam or string hoppers, appam or rice pancake, all served with coconut chutney, vegetable/chicken stew, kadala/chickpea curry, or egg curry, among a host of other accompaniments. Beverages include tea, coffee, tender-coconut water, or the seasonal fresh juices/smoothies.

Our chef also prepares meals to order, including North Indian, Continental, and Arabic dishes, served lovingly with élan.

Lunch: Lunch specialities include the famed Pearl Spot fish (karimeen) curry or fry; lobsters and prawn, made to order in a variety of styles; chicken, wild fowl, kada (quail) mutton, pork, and beef in a range of stunning culinary variations; kappa (tapioca) served with your choice of fish, and the legendary Malayali sadya (feast) laid out on freshly cut banana leaf. You may also order the famed fluffy Kerala paratha that is savoured best with meat. Vegans may opt for green peas.

Dinner: Dinner includes a customised non-vegetarian spread and a variety of breads. For vegetarians, including Jains, we offer a number of options, based on a range of regional cuisines. Our chef will be at hand to serve up your preferred vegetarian delicacies.

Upon Request: This is part of the bespoke experience we offer where we can source and arrange delicacies during your stay on board. You could for example buy your favourite fish or even that exotic one that you always fancied from local fisherfolk and our cooks can then prepare it to your taste and specifications.
